Daily Prayer at 12PM by the People of Grace Fellowship Community Church

Rene Juarez has provided our prayer for the week of September 19 - September 25

Creator of bodies, restorer of souls,

We lift up those with short-term and long-term illness. We denounce the use of weapons, hunger, and conditions fostering disease to cause harm. We pray “Your kingdom come,” even as we look to you to dry our tears. May we bear witness to the touch of our wounded healer today.

Amen

Church Barbecue, Saturday, September 20, 10AM - 2PM

Washington Park in Burlingame (same place as last year - 850 Burlingame Ave).

Daniel Ng will once again be our grill master.  Please bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share.  Be aware that parking may be a challenge.  Let the church office know if you have any questions.

Food Pantry Volunteers Needed, Saturday, September 20, 12:30PM - 3PM

If anyone is not planning to attend the church barbecue please consider helping with the Food Pantry from 12:30pm-3pm. Volunteers are needed!

Journeying Together, Sunday, September 21

What does it mean to be a part of the community called the church? We will explore this question, covering topics such as spiritual gifts, creative worship, unity-amidst-diversity, and holistic ministry. This offering is for those who have expressed interest in such a space to discuss membership. First-time members are especially, but not exclusively, encouraged to attend.

We will gather two times: right after worship service on Sept. 21st and Nov 2.  A light lunch will be provided.

Loops of Love Delivery Thursday, September 25, 1PM

We have the honor of visiting and delivering gifts to the residents at Laguna Honda Hospital on Thursday, September 25 at 1:00 p.m.  Please join us as we serve the vulnerable in our city.

Contact Linda Kay or Jennifer Yee if you are interested.

Family Meeting, Sunday, September 28

Right after service, we will have our family meeting.  Come hear updates from the pastors and different ministries about what is happening in our church.  We expect to be finished by 1PM.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Baptismal Service, Sunday, October 19

We are honored to be celebrating with Rocsi Reeves, Na’lani Reeves (Kamari

and Rocsi’s infant daughter) and Joyce Kimotsuki as they are baptized on October 19. We will witness these beautiful baptisms during our worship service.

If you are considering baptism yourself, please speak with Pastor Al or Pastor Paul.

Special Love Feast and Dessert: Honoring Our School District Workers—Retired and Still Serving Sunday, October 26

During worship on October 26, we will offer prayer and thanks for those serving in the trenches of our schools, and for the faithful witness of our retirees.

Join us afterward for our love feast and dessert treats as we celebrate congregation members who have served as teachers, paraprofessionals, principals, librarians, speech therapists, coaches, and support staff. Through years of patient dedication and servant leadership, they have brought Christ’s love into classrooms and communities, reflecting His grace in countless ways.

Church Anniversary Love Feast, November 16

Historically, we have had our anniversary celebration on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  That is because Grace Fellowship Community Church’s first worship service was the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

However, we recognize that many people may be out of town for Thanksgiving week.  As we want as many people here to celebrate our anniversary, we are moving the celebration one week earlier.

Freedom Stories

We have been blessed hearing Freedom Stories from our brothers and sisters in our congregation.  Let this be an open invitation to anyone who wants to share his/her freedom story with the congregation to contact Pastors Al or Paul.

Mennonite Action Training Tour Tuesday, October 7

Our friends from First Mennonite, Joanna, and Sojourners, Nate, are collaborating with Mennonite Action in a training session on Tuesday, October 7 at 5:45pm. We have been invited to participate in the training.  The place for the training is TBD.

“The genocide in Gaza rages on as ICE kidnaps our neighbors off the streets in the U.S. That's why we're bringing training, tools, and frameworks to help our communities respond in courage to our historical moment”
