Daily Prayer at 12PM by the People of Grace Fellowship Community Church
Irene Fong has provided our prayer for the week of October 3 - October 9
Holy Father,
We humbly ask You to make us Your blessing to those whom You have put before us today:
May we offer food to those who are hungry, provide a drink for those who thirst.
May we offer Your hope and encouragement.
We want to live this day present to the grace of each moment, with gratitude and courage.
May we bring delight to You this day. Amen.

Baptismal Service, Sunday, October 19
We are honored to be celebrating with Rocsi Reeves, Na’lani Reeves (Kamari
and Rocsi’s infant daughter) and Joyce Kimotsuki as they are baptized on October 19. We will witness these beautiful baptisms during our worship service.
If you are considering baptism yourself, please speak with Pastor Al or Pastor Paul.
Special Love Feast and Dessert: Honoring Our School District Workers—Retired and Still Serving Sunday, October 26
During worship on October 26, we will offer prayer and thanks for those serving in the trenches of our schools, and for the faithful witness of our retirees.
Join us afterward for our love feast and dessert treats as we celebrate congregation members who have served as teachers, paraprofessionals, principals, librarians, speech therapists, coaches, and support staff. Through years of patient dedication and servant leadership, they have brought Christ’s love into classrooms and communities, reflecting His grace in countless ways.
Church at the Crossroads
At our Family meeting this past Sunday, Kevin Flora shared about his experience attending the Church at the Crossroads conference.
One action step Kevin invited to consider is signing a declaration. The document is a public declaration of Christians gathered at the 2025 Church at the Crossroads conference in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. It is a response to our Palestinian sibling’s call to Christians in the West to take a clear stand against what is going on in Gaza and Palestine.

More invitations for us as GFCC to take in response to the conference will be coming in the future.
Christmas Tree Theme
We will be redecorating our church Christmas Tree this year. Our new theme is "For God so Loved the World." The youth will be making a garland with the theme in different languages and we will still use some of our chrismons.
We would like the congregation to donate ornaments that you make or purchase. It would be great if we can have ornaments from all around the world. We will be collecting ornaments soon.
Please contact Linda Kay or Lisa Balzer if you have any questions.
Freedom Stories
We have been blessed hearing Freedom Stories from our brothers and sisters in our congregation. Let this be an open invitation to anyone who wants to share his/her freedom story with the congregation to contact Pastors Al or Paul.

New College Berkeley Event with Common Hymnal, Saturday, October 4

Common Hymnal is coming to San Leandro this Saturday and New College Berkeley invites you to join a conversation with them (and enjoy some music sprinkled in)! Whether you sing any of their songs (most known for "The Kingdom is Yours"), you will appreciate their story, one of resistance to the "powers that be" (including the profit-driven Christian music industry) as an expression of discipleship. The locally-based Bay Worship Collective will also be represented. See you there!

Our friends from First Mennonite, Joanna, and Sojourners, Nate, are collaborating with Mennonite Action in a training session on Tuesday, October 7 at 5:45pm. We have been invited to participate in the training. The location of the training is in the Nopa/Alamo Square neighborhood.
“The genocide in Gaza rages on as ICE kidnaps our neighbors off the streets in the U.S. That's why we're bringing training, tools, and frameworks to help our communities respond in courage to our historical moment”
