Notes from Last Week’s Sermon by Pastor Al
“Liberation and Liturgy: How Free People Worship”
Liberation and Liturgy go together. They may be distinct, but worship and mission would be incomplete without the other.
The Unity of Mission and Worship
Doing what God says: Obedience
Speaking truth to power: Prophecy
Moving toward freedom: Exodus
Remembering what God has done: Memory
Celebrating what God has done: Festivity
If you want to re-listen to Pastor Al’s sermon (and any other previous sermons), you can do so on our church’s website.

We Had a Blessed Time with the First Mennonite Church of San Francisco
What a great time we had eating together and having fellowship with our neighbor last Sunday.
Pat Plude (Minister of Music, Arts and Formation) said “Our time together on Sunday was delightful! I heard from so many of our congregants that they had lively conversations and made meaningful connections.”
The soups and a few salads were provided by the First Mennonite Church.
Special thanks to Randy, Charlotte, Margie, Irene, Alice, Kathy and Caroline who made the sandwiches and prepared the salads.

Reimagining Spiritual Formation
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 13 at 7 PM. We will continue to explore what spiritual formation is and how we can create a rich, brave space for its flourishing in us. This in-person biweekly series will combine teaching, dialogue and breakout spaces for engaging how God is at work and how we participate in God’s life. Important themes include formation as a journey, restoration, vulnerability, authenticity, listening and companionship.

Staying Spiritually Centered in the Political Aftermath, Wednesday, November 20, 7:00Pm - 8:30PM
We all have been inundated and overwhelmed by the rhetoric over our national election. By November 20, the election results would be in. But no matter the election results, we all need a time to re-center ourselves in God's presence.
On Wednesday, November 20, Karen Seth will lead us in a time of prayer and contemplation as we give our attention to what it means to follow Jesus and for the church to bear witness to the hope during the aftermath of the election.
We will meet at the church on Wednesday, November 20 from 7:00PM - 8:30PM.
If you have any questions, contact Pastor Al or Karen Seth.
Church Anniversary Love Feast, Sunday, November 24
It will be a potluck so bring your favorite dish to share with the congregation.
