Announcements for the Week of 2/24/25

Join Us for Sunday Worship, March 2 at 10:00 AM

Pastor Al will be preaching from Exodus 30:1, 17-19, 22-25, 34-36.  “Sweet Church:

The Fragrance of Relationship”

Last Week, Pastor Al Preached on “The Priest:  Set Apart to Lead in Transformational Worship”

“At the end of the day, the detail given to the garments of the priest, their ordination, and for that matter, the tabernacle that he was to oversee speaks to the centrality of worship for the people of God to be the people of God in a broken, chaotic world.”

We Welcome Mark R. Charles to our Pulpit as Guest Speaker on Sunday, March 9, 2025

Mark R. Charles is a Native American activist, public speaker, consultant, and author on Native American issues, as well as a journalist, blogger and a  Reformed pastor.

Mark Charles is the co-author of Unsettling Truths - The Ongoing, Dehumanizing Legacy of the Doctrine of Discovery.  In this book, we are confronted with the idea that injustice has plagued American society for centuries.  And we cannot move toward being a more just nation without understanding the root causes that have shaped our culture and institutions, in particular, the damaging effects of the "Doctrine of Discovery.

After refreshment time, we will have a chance to have a Q&A time with Mark in the sanctuary. (Plan on staying no later than 1PM)

Kristyn Komarnicki will be Visiting with Us on Sunday, March 16

Kristyn is the director of dialogue and convening at CSA (Christians for Social Action). The creator of our Oriented to Love dialogues about sexual/gender diversity in the church, Kristyn gathers Christians of different sexual orientations, gender identities, and theological convictions together so they can begin to know, understand, and love each other, in search of a unity that is deeper than agreement.

Kristyn will be worshipping with us and giving us an update on Oriented to Love (one of our ministry partners - Matt McDonell is our ministry liaison).
