Holy Week Events

●     Maundy Thursday Service, A Service of Lament, March 28 at 7PM

●     Good Friday Evening Service, March 29 at 7PM

Maundy Thursday: A Service of Lament, 7 PM

Maundy Thursday is the day Jesus celebrates the Last Supper. It is a time of disorientation for his disciples, and a time of grief for Jesus. This Thursday, we are invited to accompany Jesus on his journey, while he creates a place for us to lament our own suffering and disorientation as a community. This service will have significant elements of lament, as a way for us to collectively bring our story to God.

Easter Sunday Love Feast, March 31

Let’s celebrate our Lord’s resurrection together with our Love Feast.  It will be a PotLuck lunch and we invite you to bring a dish to share.

Please bring your food to the kitchen before Sunday service begins. Let Jennifer or Caroline know if you need to keep the food warm in the oven or to plug in a crock pot.

Easter Offering for ECWA Theological Seminary, JOS (JETS) in Nigeria

Easter Sunday will be the last day to receive this offering. If you have any questions, please contact Dave Williams.

Eastertide Cards! (Note from Cindy Jew)

“People can get their cards/stamps from me on Sunday or email me.  There are 12 extra cards available if you didn't get a chance to sign up and wanted to still send one, remember you can send them after Easter as we celebrate until Ascension Sunday and every Sunday for that matter!  Just let me know so I can get them to you!.  Cindy”

The Gift of Wonder by Christine Aroney-Sine

During Eastertide, our sermons will be based on Christine Aroney-Sine’s book, The Gift of Wonder.  If you would like to purchase a book for your personal use and study, we have copies available at $14.00.  They will be available at the end of our Sunday service.  You can pay via cash, check or online.

As an added bonus, Dr. Aroney-Sine will be our speaker on Sunday, April 7.

Hakan's Passing - Celebration of Life Service, Monday, April 1 at 4PM

Hakan Erken passed away on Saturday, March 16.  He was and is a beloved child of God, a friend of our congregation, and an important part of our life here in San Francisco.

You are invited to join Dave and Lisa, and Hakan's sister Tijen and her husband Tuğrul, for a celebration of his life on Monday April 1 at 4pm in the Grace Fellowship sanctuary.  It will be a simple time to worship and remember, share snacks and stories. Please join us.

Refreshment Sign Up

Thank you to those who regularly sign up to bring us refreshments after our service.  For those of us who enjoy the refreshments each week but have not had a chance to contribute, please consider signing up.

As an alternative to making/buying/bringing food, you can make a monetary contribution by placing a check in the offering box and indicating that it is for coffee hour refreshments.  We all love to have something sweet or savory during refreshment time.

If you have any questions, please see Caroline or Jennifer.

●      Praise and thanks for God's provision:

○      JIA has moved into their new office space (100 Bush Street, Suite 508), with additional private offices that enable private meetings with clients. An upcoming open house is being planned for May.

○      Last fall's fundraising matching campaign exceeded its goal by 23%

○      JIA has a good reputation among their community partners, city officials and clients; bearing witness to core values  through how JIA performs its work.

●      Prayer requests:

○      Increase in clients from China coming across from the Southern border.

○      God's provision has enabled an increase in Jubilee staff, but there is always a large workload. Ongoing wisdom for Amy and Clare in caring for their staff and serving clients.
