Announcements for the Week of 12/29/25

A Note from the Session

We are continuing to pray for all of you in light of all that was shared last weekend regarding Paul's resignation. We will be available after church for the next few Sundays in the youth room to talk or pray. You can also reach out to us throughout the week or through the email session-only@gfccsf.org. We desire to be company with you during this time.

May the Peace of Christ be with you all.

Join Us for Sunday Worship, January 4, at 10:00 AM

After the Service, you are invited to stay for a cake reception to thank our outgoing session members (Shane Chao, Kim Towsley and Jensa Woo) and welcome our incoming session members (Clare Crawford and Matt McDonell).

Christ Has Arrived in the Midst of Rubble!

Inspired by the book, Christ in the Rubble, by Munther Isacc, we are reminded of the destruction in Palestine taking place today. Christ was born in Bethlehem which is part of Palestine. If Jesus was born today, He would be under the rubble. The rubble represents death and destruction, but the Christ in the rubble represents hope, peace, joy and love.

As we will celebrate Epiphany this Sunday, we will be taking down our Christ in the Rubble display after our Sunday service. Please feel free to take home some of the rock(s)/rubble for your personal use.

Daily Prayer at 12PM by the People of Grace Fellowship Community Church

This week’s daily prayer for January 2 to January 8 is from Karen Seth.

Emmanuel, God with us.

Thank you that You come to be with us in the rubble that is not only “out there” but in our hearts.

As the new year is upon us, mend our broken hearts and give us hope for the newness and transformation that you want to create in us and through us.

In the name of Christ in the rubble,

Amen.

Help is Needed for this Saturday’s Food Pantry (1/3/26)!

If you have time, please come between 12 and 12:30 to help.

Leftover Food from the Food Pantry

We often have an abundance of leftover food from the food pantry. Rather than composting the extra food, we have begun donating the extra food to a non-profit organization called ExtraFood.

Our congregation is welcome to take any food left at the entrance of our church. However, please do not take the food that is left in the courtyard. This food is designated for the Extra Food pick up.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Elaine Fong-Joe or Sharon Jung-Verdi.

There will be No Deeper Dive on Tuesday, January 6

Cana Retreat for Couples, February 6-8, 2026 at Mission Springs (January 15, 2026 is the last day for registration)

See Robert or Margie Chiang for more information.
