Beginning this Sunday, Pastor Al will begin a sermon series on the Book of Acts. This week’s scripture reading is Acts 1: 1-26. “Holy Spirit Coming: And Don’t Do Anything Until She Does!”
Feel free to stay for fellowship and a cup of coffee after the service.

Pastoral and Elder Care

For anyone who wishes, there will be a 1 on 1 prayer time with an elder after service on the 3rd Sunday of each month - this begins this Sunday, May 17. Meet 10 minutes after the end of service. Go to the former office of Pastor Paul and an elder will meet you there.
Pentecost Sunday, May 24
We will have a special refreshment time after the service.
Our Next Love Feast is June 14
This will be a special love feast to recognize and celebrate the volunteers in our congregation who do what they do to bless our church and its ministries.
No one needs to bring or provide food for this love feast.
Becoming a Better Ally
Michael Leslie is inviting folks to join “Becoming a Better Ally,” a three-week Zoom conversation hosted by Welcoming Cumberland Presbyterians and Rev. Ainsley Herrick, a trans minister in the PCUSA. Attendees will explore LGBTQIA2S+ identities, what it means to practice allyship, and how churches can stop harming LGBTQ+ people and become more welcoming and hospitable.

Mission Trip to Federal Way, Washington to Visit Pastor Nelson and Annet
We plan to visit Pastor Nelson and Annet and their congregation at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. One of our goals is to be an encouragement to them and at the same time learn from them. The trip will be from Thursday, August 20 to Monday, August 24. If you wish to join in this trip, please let Pastor Al or Caroline know. We will limit this trip to 15 people.

Solidarity for Sanctuary Party, Saturday, May 16 (Sponsored by Faith In Action’s Immigrant Families Committee
The aim of this Solidarity for Sanctuary Party and Fundraiser is to launch two funds: a Sanctuary Legal Defense Fund and an Emergency Fund Supporting Homeless Families.
The Sanctuary Legal Defense Fund addresses the critical problem that, overwhelming, the newcomer families and Leaders in Faith in Action face: how to pay for legal representation.
The Emergency Fund Supporting Homeless Families addresses the absence of basic funds for living expenses from which so many newcomer families suffer.

Our friend of the congregation, Mario, will be holding his annual garage sale on Saturday, May 16. Mario will donate the proceeds from the garage sale to Jubilee Immigration Advocates.
