Daily Prayer at 12PM by the People of Grace Fellowship Community Church
This week’s daily prayer for March 27 to April 2 is from Charlotte Chang.
Lord, we pray for your eyes and heart, to see and grieve with you over the violence, cruelty, and injustice;
but also to see and rejoice with you over every act of kindness, compassion, and justice done in your Name.
Teach us to hold together, as you do, both grief and joy, lament and hope, so that we may abide faithfully with you.
Amen.
Tell Me Something Good Devotional
Next week is Holy Week, which begins with Palm/Passion Sunday (3/29): “The good news is…inspiring us to act.” Jesus is Lord. Having recognized His Lordship, our calling is to emulate His regal imperative: to live our lives as He lived His, in service to—and perhaps even in sacrifice for—the lives of God’s people. Take your time through Holy Week as we walk with Jesus to the Last Supper of Maundy Thursday and to the cross of Good Friday. Rather than rush to squeeze everything in, slow down and honor what He wants to say to you about good news and the extravagant love meant for you and for all. Offer Him and each other your company and presence.
Maundy Thursday Evening Gathering, April 2 at 6:00PM
“Just before the Passover Feast, Jesus knew that the time had come to leave this world to go to the Father. Having loved his dear companions, he continued to love them right to the end.”—Jn 13:1-2.
Jesus eagerly desired to be with his friends and brought them together one last time before his time of trial. That evening, he shared a meal with them and got up from supper to wash his disciples’ feet as an example of how they are to live—extending grace to all, vulnerable and enemy alike.
We too are invited to share a meal together with Jesus and each other on Maundy Thursday, April 2nd, 6:00 PM, before Good Friday comes. That evening, we will gather in the church sanctuary and a light meal will be provided. We will also practice what he taught us by washing each other’s feet. While this might evoke some hesitance within you, as it did with Peter, we hope to help each other lean into this practice of radical love that Jesus wants us to embody. While you will not be required to have your feet washed, we ask that you prayerfully consider how you would like to offer your love and presence to Jesus that evening.
Good Friday Service, April 3 at 7PM
Easter Sunday Service, April 5
As part of our celebration, we will have a Pot Luck Love Feast. Bring your favorite dish to share.
Easter Offering
This Easter, we would like to take a special offering for Esther Moses Badung’s (Sunday Agang’s daughter) TRASE (Trauma Resilience and Sustainable Empowerment) Project.
“TRASE is not just a poverty alleviation scheme: it is a holistic initiative that aims to empower individuals and families suffering from trauma, especially trauma resulting from the ongoing Fulani herdsmen kidnapping, attacks and killings, to rebuild their lives,
rediscover their God-given potential, and become agents of positive change.”
You can read more about this project here.
You can give by putting a check in our offering box (marked for the Easter offering) or give online.
Longing and Lament in Anxious Times Workshop, Saturday April 11, 9AM-11AM
What can help us in the healing of the personal and collective grief that we may feel during this anxious moment in our lives and in the life of our church, nation and the world?
Come and learn about the ancient prayer of lament on Saturday, April 11, from 9-11 am in our church sanctuary. You will have the opportunity to practice writing your own psalm of lament to help express your longings and grief to the One who holds us all in His healing, wounded hands. We can pray in lament during Eastertide because our Risen Savior promises new life and hope in the midst of suffering.
Karen Seth facilitated this workshop for New College Berkeley in February 2026 and has agreed to offer it to us at GFCC. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
Please sign up if you are interested by April 9.

Community Events

For those who are interested in participating and marching together in the No Kings Protest, we will gather together at the corner of California and Drumm Streets (at the end of the California St. Cable Car line) at 11:30AM. We have the privilege of marching with our siblings from Redeemer, Sojourners and First Mennonite Church.
At the end of the march, we can meet at the southwest corner of Larkin and Grove Streets (in front of the Bill Graham Auditorium).
As an alternative to the march, you can be a part of the Human Banner. Meet at Ocean Beach, 1000 Great Highway, Stairwell 17 at 11:00AM. Be on time as it takes time to organize the group into the design. To help the organizers with the design, please register so they know how many people will be coming to the Human Banner event.
If you have any questions, please contact Brian Chinn.
Flipping the Tables of Oppression, Tuesday, March 31, 11AM - 1PM
On Tuesday, March 31 we will be holding a vigil at the ICE building at 630 Sansome in San Francisco from 11 am-1 pm.
We are planning this as one of the monthly vigils that are hosted by Interfaith Movement 4 Human Integrity. (IM4HI) We will be following Jesus example of flipping the tables of the oppressive systems and companies that are profiting from the genocide in Gaza as well as the unjust immigration system.
Yes, there will be a ritual of flipping tables as well as a call to action. Yes, there will be singing!
Any questions, please reach out to Pastor Al.
