Daily Prayer at 12PM by the People of Grace Fellowship Community Church

This week’s daily prayer for February 20 to February 26 is a repeat from last week. The issue remains the same.

Creator of all peoples, you hate racism.

We pray against its continued impact upon black and brown citizens of the United States.

We also pray against the travel ban placed upon over 30 nonwhite countries.

Have mercy on the millions of people that it affects, we pray.

In the name of the refugee, Jesus.

Amen

Tell Me Something Good Lenten Devotional & Gatherings

For those journeying through the Tell Me Something Good Lenten Devotional, we hope you had an opportunity this past Sunday to check out the sign-up lists for gathering with others during the season of Lent: Tell Me Something Good: Gathering Schedule. If you would like to join a group but have not yet signed up, or if you need to make a change to your sign up, there is still an opportunity to do so this coming Sunday, Feb. 22nd. Groups will begin meeting the week of March 2nd.

This Sunday 2/22, we begin the 1st Week of Lent: “The good news is…so good it catches us by surprise.” To trust Jesus is to trust that He wants to bring about overflowing goodness, even when our eyes tell us things are not headed that way. To trust Jesus is to carry seeds of faith that can take root and flourish in strange and foreign soils.

For those who might find it helpful, we have prepared the attached outline to help you see how the weeks of Lent correspond to the 2026 calendar: TMSG Lent Devotional Outline . Of course, please walk through the weekly readings at your own pace, following a rhythm that works best for you.

Still Need a Copy of the Devotional?

If you don’t yet have a copy of the devotional, you can pick up a printed copy at church or add your name to the following sign-up sheet to obtain an electronic copy of the devotional you can view on a computer or tablet: Request e-Reader version of Lenten Devotional. All in the congregation are welcome to receive a devotional.

Faith
Jesus’ mother, Mary, tells the Cana wedding servants to “Do whatever he tells you.” When we speak of faith, we often refer to trusting what God will do (in this case, trusting what Jesus will do at the wedding). The Hebrew word Emunah, which is often translated as faith or faithfulness in English, refers to a loyalty and trust in the person with whom we have a relationship. Emunah, however, does not speak merely of a cerebral belief, but includes an action orientation. It speaks of doing what we can to support God in whom we trust and have confidence.

A Note From the Session

Some folks have asked for written copies of what the Session shared at the December Family Meeting when we announced Pastor Paul's resignation, and notes from the small groups at the February Family Meeting. Because we are still gathering the information, we need to delay making these available until next week.

Love Feast, March 8

During this Love Feast, Amy Lee from Jubilee Immigration Advocates, will be doing a presentation to bring us up-to-date about the immigration situation in our country.

No Kings Protest, Saturday, March 28

More information will be forthcoming, but if you are interested in participating, Brian Chinn will be coordinating our participation.

Loops of Love is Collecting Blankets and Stuffed Animals

"Loops of Love" is getting ready to visit and offer gifts to the residents at Laguna Honda Hospital. We are collecting blankets and stuffed animals to bring some warmth and comfort to these beloved ones. For safety reasons, please do not have any ribbons or embellishments on the blankets and stuffed animals. A basket next to the offering box will be available for your gifts.

Contact Linda Kay or Jennifer Yee if you have any questions.

Food Pantry Volunteers

The weekly Saturday food pantry is always in need of volunteers. If you are available to help from 12:30 to 2:30, please sign up.

Deeper Dive Link - Reflecting on the Sunday Experience

Every Tuesday, we will offer “A Deeper Dive,” a time to revisit the previous Sunday’s worship experience.

This space will be on Zoom every Tuesday evening, 7:00-8:30pm. Below is the zoom link which you can use every week:

Deeper Dive Zoom Link

Meeting ID: 825 9666 9506

Passcode: 728637

Questions to Consider for the Deeper Dive

1. How were you made aware of God’s presence this past Sunday—perhaps through a song, the sermon, communion, a conversation with someone at coffee hour, etc.?

2. What in the sermon particularly inspired, encouraged, or challenged you?

3. Beyond Sundays, in what ways has your worship experience been impacting your relationship with God, neighbor (near and far), and/or yourself?

Contact Pastor Al or Randy Chang if you have any questions.

Sunday Agang Update

As of August 2025, our friend, Dr. Sunday Agang, is no longer the Provost of ECWA Theological Seminary, JOS (JETS). He has left this position to “focus on teaching African Public Theology, researching how to combat corruption and conflict in Africa, writing, mentoring leaders, and ministering to widows, orphans, and the needy. To carry this forward, I have founded a new umbrella ministry, which will also support the initiatives of my daughters: Nancy Alex’s Tangham Foundation and Esther Moses’ Scarlet Cord Initiatives for Women and Youth, who are victims of Fulani herdsmen's attacks.

In addition, as of January 2026, Sunday joined the All Progressives Congress, APC (which is Nigeria’s major progressive political party).
