Join Us for Sunday Worship, August 25 at 10:00 AM
Mylene Foo will be sharing the Word from Psalm 121. “A Song for the Road”
Gordon Yee will be sharing during Sunday Service
This Sunday, Gordon will be sharing with us about his recent mission trip with SOON Movement Global to Southeast Asia.
Love Feast on Sunday
Laurie Shigekuni will be sharing about her foundation, Hanami Hope. Stay for lunch, the fellowship and the mochi dessert!
Love Feast and Family Meeting, Sunday, September 8
We will have a simple meal together and hear how God has been moving among us and richly blessing our congregation during our family meeting.
Church Family Barbecue at Washington Park in Burlingame, Saturday, September 28, 10AM - 4PM
Plan on coming that day for a barbecue, games(?) and good fellowship. This will be a good opportunity to invite your family and friends.
The meat for the barbecue will be provided. Please feel free to bring side dishes, desserts and drinks. You can sign up below:
Advent Retreat at the Mercy Center, December 6-7, 2024
Join us for a retreat at The Mercy Center in Burlingame, titled "Curiosity, Doubt and Hope: An Advent Journey" Pastor Al will be one of the co-leaders of the retreat.
Participation Options (Early Bird Price until October 1):
After October 1, all prices will increase by $25.00
We encourage all to attend, so if cost is an issue, please let Pastor Paul know.

As we need an accurate count for planning purposes, please indicate whether you will be attending the retreat on the attached sign up sheet.
Temporary Housing Needed
We met Julie Ramsey a few weeks ago when she came to worship with us. Her graduate studies (in San Francisco) begin next week, but her housing is not available until the following week. Therefore, she is in need of temporary housing for that gap time.
If you are able to provide a place for Julie to lay her head down from Tuesday, August 27 to Wednesday, September 4, please let Caroline or Jennifer know.

Joy Kreider of Deliberate Dialogues
Here are some highlights from Joy’s email update about her ministry.
At the end of February I joined the spring 2024 cohort of students training to be Trauma Recovery Coaches.
I continue to offer local trainings
I have been spending time meeting up with local therapeutic practices
I am collaborating with the United Methodist Church of Virgina to offer a keynote talk to Virginia based clergy on the impact of trauma on the brain in October.

New Cana Sharing Groups are forming in San Francisco and the Bay Area for the 2023-24 year.
Cana Sharing Groups will begin meeting monthly from September to May. Groups provide a hospitable and simple structure, opening up time and space for God and your marriage as you and your partner spend time together connecting on a topic and enjoy friendship with other couples. We Welcome RTI International to our Church Building
Beginning in the last week of August to late September, RTI (Research Triangle Institute) International will be using some of our rooms to conduct interviews with residents of the Mission district to discuss their healthcare needs. This is part of a 3-year grant to discover ways to improve healthcare. If you have any questions, contact Caroline.
Children’s Day School Early Childhood Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Celebration on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 8:30am-9:30am
After over a year of construction, the Early Childhood Center will be officially opening with its ribbon cutting ceremony. Grace Fellowship Community Church hosted Children’s Day School art and music classes in our building during the last school year while the new building was being constructed.
