Kaleo is an outreach ministry of Grace Fellowship Community Church. Kaleo is a Greek word which means “to call” or “to invite.”
Kaleo’s ministry is to invite people to our church to receive hospitality and friendship. Over the last 20+ years, Kaleo has been reaching out to recent immigrants, some of the most vulnerable populations of our city. We understand that living in San Francisco is a challenge in terms of finding affordable housing and good paying jobs. This is especially true when you have limited English skills and limited resources. So we gather together to discuss the encounters of Jesus with all kinds of people in the Bible, have fellowship around the multi ethnic food we share, practice English conversation, provide support in job search and in navigating life skills in a new environment.
We understand that often the needs of our participants can be overwhelming and Kaleo cannot solve all problems. However, Kaleo, in the name of our Loving God, walks alongside our friends through difficult circumstances. One Kaleo friend recently remarked: “ I came to San Francisco as a lonely stranger, now I have a family here.”
Kaleo meets every other Friday at our church building, 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
Childcare is provided for preschoolers - elementary school children
