We Welcome Rev. Dr. Ben Lowe to our
Pulpit as Guest Preacher on Sunday, February 16, 2025
Rev. Dr. Ben Lowe is the Executive Director of
A Rocha USA.
A
Rocha USA is a Christian organization that works to conserve the environment
and educate people about their role in caring for God's creation. A Rocha USA
is part of a global network of Christian conservation organizations called A
Rocha.
Caring for creation is an integral
part of loving God, neighbor, and the rest of God s world. This has always been
the case. At the same time, biodiversity loss and climate change have become
two of the defining and interwoven challenges of our time. So, I care for
creation because I follow the Creator, and I feel a particularly urgent calling
to contribute toward restoring right relationships and mutual flourishing at a
time when our species has dramatically depleted the diversity and abundance of
life on the earth. (excerpt from 5/5/23 interview with Laura Vessey and Hannah Gillespie)

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE ON WEDNESDAY,
MARCH 5 AT 7PM
All are welcome to join us as we begin the
Lenten Season by observing Ash Wednesday.
Ash
Wednesday is a solemn day of repentance and humility when we are invited to
begin the 40 days of Lent by reflecting on our faith, embracing a spirit of
penitence and drawing nearer to God through intentional spiritual practices.
The
40 days of Lent are a symbolic journey that leads us to the celebration of the
resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter.
